5 Unconventional Uses for Teak

Teak is everlasting.

It can last for decades if cared for properly, and can even retain its original luster with a small amount of effort. Alternatively, some choose to let the natural patina develop into a beautifully silver sheen. Whatever you choose, the great thing about teak is that is has such varied uses, and can be easily implemented almost anywhere you would normally use wood – especially areas that get wet!

Today, we will take a look at some unconventional ways to use teak furniture.

1. This example of a teak sink counter

What an awesome way to use teak right in your bathroom! Not only is this application stunning – you can expect it to stand up to the test of even children splashing around in the water when you aren’t looking, for many years to come.

It is note-worthy that teak should be sealed before using it in this type of application.

2. Teak benches for your shower

These teak benches really dress up your shower! You can, again, expect them to hold up to years of water as long as they are previously sealed..

3.Teak Siding

This is stunning! Teak siding creates smooth, clean, rich lines that give a very warm, cozy feeling to modern homes. This is a beautiful way to encase your sanctuary with the beautiful look of wood.

4. This life-size teak chess set

This is a gorgeous, really interesting way to use teak! Especially for those who love entertaining, or those who are chess aficionados, this design features actual chess pieces carved from teak. A great way to enjoy a game with friends and family on a balmy evening as the sun goes down. Great for the kids too!

5. This ebonized teak trunk table

What a stunning, incredibly moving piece of furniture. Just gorgeous! This is an actual teak wood trunk, that was ebonized and probably sealed as well before being delivered to the customer. It serves as a coffee table, but these can be found larger and smaller – possibly more suitable for those who want to use it as a kitchen table or end table, or even as a type of pedestal for art. We love this idea!
